Soon the Barefoot Blogger will be returning home to France. Meanwhile, it’s springtime at the beach in the Carolinas.
Enjoying good times with friends, family and good friends who are like family.
Dead Dog Saloon, Murrels Inlet, SC
This part of the eastern US shore is where “beach music” began and it’s the home of the “shag” — the dance! (for my British friends)
Stopped by my brother and family’s Broadway Grand Prix Amusement Park, Myrtle Beach, SC
...and of course, the beach, the “Grand Strand”. Pretty deserted now, but throngs of tourists on the way…
Learned some new “Carolina slang”, too.
“A Blockomore”: Someone who looks good from a block or more away.
“A Bewitcha” : “I’ll dance ‘witch a’ but I don’t wanna ‘be witch a’.”

You’re getting closer!
I grew up in North Carolina, and loved this! I follow you on Bloglovin’ and was shocked to see a post about the Carolinas in my feed! I hope you had time to check on Charleston, SC and Wilmington,NC. Dawson’s Creek and One Tree Hill were filmed there and it’s a fun little beach town. Enjoy!
