December Walk Around Uzès

When I was away from my French home in the winter months,  I wished I could see what I was missing. I longed for a December walk around Uzès.

Now that I’m firmly planted here for a while, I’d like to share what I’m seeing. So many friends of the Barefoot Blogger have asked. So let’s do it!

December Walk Around Uzès

There’s no better place to start than at the “entrance” to town. It doesn’t matter how many times I pass this spot. The view of the Fenestrelle never fails to take my breath away.

Then there’s this. The architects of Cathédrale Saint-Théodorit must have known the sun would show off their masterpiece.

In town, views of the Vallée de l’Eure are on the right, and houses on the left. Lucky people in those houses get a front-row view. Even the cat with a balcony room.

December Walk Around Uzès – Favorite Stopping Place

When there are no crowds, the vibes in Uzès are almost eerie. Empty streets allow you to see the architecture like never before.

What’s old is new again when you notice it for the first time.

December Walk Around Uzès – Favorite Spaces

My favorite place to walk is in the public park on the way to the Vallèe de l’Eure. It’s near my apartment, where  I can breathe fresh air and sit in the sun. Some days, a few people are there.–  mostly teenagers sitting in groups on the ground. Often, there’s no one.
