Ok. I’m a sucker for market days

Maybe what I fell in love with in Sarlat was the cool handbag I bought.  The town is known for its artisanal crafts, such as handmade bags and other souvenirs. Perhaps it was the foie gras or the walnuts. They are some of the region’s most famous culinary specialties.

It could have been the buildings and the alleyways of Sarlat that captivated me. And the amazing church where I could feel the Spirit.

I wish you could have been in Sarlat with me to taste this galette, the cider, and the macaroons. I’m sure you’d feel the same about the place.

Food is an important part of Sarlat’s cultural heritage and provide a unique and delicious way to experience the local flavors and ingredients of the Dordogne region.

Sarlat was so much fun we almost ended up braiding our hair with feathers!

    • Have a great time! Eat lots of foie gras. It’s everywhere! Thanks for your note. Let me know how you like Sarlat.

  1. Debby, Najac was our least favorite place. It felt a little tired, dusty. People weren’t all friendly. Almost had to beg a bartender to make us a drink and he had no business. It would be a “skip” for us.

  2. Love, love this thread of posts, Deb, and for very personal reasons as we prepare for our November adventure in Dordogne. It should be easy enough to convince you to join us for a meal in this lovely part of France, n’est-ce pas?

  3. Yes, it is a wonderful little village and the market is wonderful. You should have included the plaza with the two geese. We have a painting of them in our US home and it brings back fond memories. The weather looks great and you have added a new handbag to you collection. Great story and great pictures to go along with all the wonderful food!!!
