The Flood Aftermath
The south of France flood hit many towns and villages that caused great damage to fragile buildings and roadways. In the center of historic Uzès, the biggest problem was from water that leaked in through walls, windows and roofs. Villages below Uzès are suffering from flood damage.
The flood event around Uzès was recorded with some amazing photography. Several photos were given to me by friends who asked me to share them with you.

South of France Flood
Around 60 towns in the south of France were officially declared natural disaster sites. About 60 towns were included in the natural disaster area.

Roads either collapsed or lifted from the heavy flood waters.

Remember the poultry farm outside Uzes? The one where Geoffrey and I picked up our Thanksgiving turkey last year?
Here it is then….
Here it is now …

The birds “flew the coop.” Literally.

All is well.

Lucky old Turkeys….
:))
The pictures really capture how awful the storm was. The photos of the sky – and the terrace – are fabulous. One more thing to consider in my search – hilltop village, high floor.
Yep. Who would have thought! Although the history in the 2000s in this part of France for flooding has been pretty bad. I still think you should look at Vers-du-Gard… or Castillon du Gard.
