“French Bo-Bo” Style for the Holidays is Trés Chic

You know if I’m spending the holidays in Uzes, I’m going to visit l’Atelier des Ours. It’s just down the street and it’s irresistible, especially this time of year. From the moment you enter l’Atelier des Ours, you leave this world and float away on a cloud of snowballs and ruffles.

Perhaps it’s because Papa Bear faithfully watches out below, guarding the street where I live.

  1. Oh my Debby, we loved Uzes and hope to visit you there in 2018. I would so love this beautiful and creative shop! How fun it is that you live close by. Buy yourself a pretty gift.

    Joyeux Noel. ♥️🎄

We were in pretty Eygalieres in Provence last Christmas house sitting and yes found the holidays much simpler, less commercial, magical. Magnifique. We were invited for a Provencal Christmas with dear friends. Lovely and memorable. Enjoy.

    • Yes, Sandy, please let me know when you’re in Uzés. You must see the “Teddy Bear” shop, too. It’s always so cheerful to visit. Enjoy you holiday with friends and family. Thank you for reading the blog and keeping in touch. Happy holiday!

  2. Merry Christmas and great pics as usual. They need to refresh the Ours above the store this year!!! You must be their best customer and certainly have shown their store in a great light!!!

    • Oh, I do love to shop there! The camera doesn’t do it justice. Fortunately I get to take pics because it’s not allowed by others. This is my way of spending lots of time there just poking around! Happy Holidays to you!

  3. The shop keepers use their lovely clothing and shoes to tell sweet stories. True artists! Merry Christmas, Debby!

    • It’s so much more fun being in Uzes when I can share it with others. It makes me notice things more and visit them again. Glad you enjoy following and … stay tuned … Happy Holidays!

  4. OMG I could very happily spend hours in the atelier, it looks simply gorgeous an the outfit with the blue scarf an check skirt, I could happily wear that. But most of all I loved your simple line “A simpler time, when little things mattered.” I was chatting with a friend about just this the other day and how different Christmas is now to when I was growing up, little things meant so much more then. I hope you have a very Merry and peaceful Christmas

    • Thank you for your note and bringing up the fact again that “simple things do matter.” This holiday in Uzes has shown me a totally different side of the holiday. More relaxed, peaceful and much, much less commercial. We should all take notice. Oh.. btw… the blue with checked skirt is my favorite too. Although I could go for one of those sweaters! Happy Holiday!

  5. Joyeuses Fetes, Deborah! Jack and I are in Arpaillargues/Uzes for the holidays. I was in the Atelier des Ours last weekend and it is truly magical! I love all your pictures…great photography. I myself took a pic of the bear in the window at the piano. Yesterday we strolled through town and I was very tempted to sit on Santa’s lap in the Place aux Herbes. Instead bought a chocolate Sapin de Noel from Deschamps Chocolatier as a gift for our friends near Cannes, then watched the little kids going crazy at the carnival, so eager to ride the carrousel and bumper cars. What a special time to experience the wonders of Uzes! Merry Christmas to you…Patty and Jack
